I offer a variety of writing-centric services. This includes fiction, technical, and games rule writing, as well as editing services.
I also don’t use ChatGPT or other programs to produce writing, and if you’re asking me to do a research-based piece I’ll provide full citations. You’ll be getting original and thoughtfully-made words every time. They’re practically artisanal enough to sell at a farmer’s market.
I charge for a minimum of 1000 words when providing these services. If you would rather pay a flat price, we can talk about project expectations and I’ll give you a quote.
Blogging and Article Writing
I’m always happy to do blog posts and articles. Please contact me with the requested topic(s) and your pay rate. I will not produce posts or articles for free, so please do not request that.

I can write business plans, cover letters, and formal correspondence. I consider this to overlap heavily with technical writing (below) due to the precision needed when composing these sorts of documents. Please note I do not have legal expertise, and cannot take jobs composing legal documents.

Editing
I would love to help you make your written work the best it can be. Currently, I specialize in copy-editing: checking your work for clarity and coherency, as well as fixing glaring grammar and spelling errors. I also offer a more in-depth critique service, which will give you detailed criticism and suggestions to improve your project. If you want both you’ll need to pay the combined fee, as adding copy editing tasks greatly slows down the critique process.

Fiction Writing
I love to write fiction in any and all genres, including science fiction, fantasy, romance, and mystery. If you’d like to solicit me for an anthology, tie-in novel, or anything else, don’t hesitate to drop me a line! For short works I charge the SFWA minimum. Longer works, like novels, are negotiable.

Game Writing
I can write both supplemental story materials (such as flavor text or short stories set in the universe) and rules/design passages (for tabletop games only). For rules, I am most familiar with d20-based systems, D&D, Castles & Crusades, and Fate, but I’m happy to take on the challenge of learning something new. For supplemental story materials I can write for any type of game, including video games.
For video games specifically I will happily design and write quests and dialogue, including game mechanics notes where needed (e.g. certain triggers, quest objectives).

Sensitivity Reading
As a sensitivity reader, I’ll read through your work and try to make sure you have been inclusive in your writing. This can be applied across all genres of writing. For example a close look at terminology use in ad copy, or reading through your story to ensure that your LGBTIQA* characters ring true.
I am primarily personally qualified to sensitivity read for portrayals of nonbinary and bisexual characters, and for general LGBTIQA* inclusiveness in language. On other topics, I will do my best, but you would be well served by hiring a member of that group to do the read (such as Elsa Sjunneson-Henry for disability-related materials). If you propose a topic I feel is out of my lane, I will happily try and source a referral for you.

Technical Writing
As a technical writer, I can write a number of documents for you, including manuals, tutorials, documentation, and even tooltip text. I’ve written dozens of articles aimed at end-users inside an organization, both troubleshooting and how-tos.
I have expertise in Windows, Linux, games, basic networking, free and open source software (FOSS), hardware repair, and general computing that I can bring to bear on these tasks and ensure your text covers the full technical complexity needed while still being approachable. I’m also an experienced programmer, and can work with beta software or other technical projects that are in the early stages.
